DURBAN- Eyewitness News has reported that the man that was killed during a attack a mosque in Verulam, was is Abbas Mohamedelo Essop, a resident from Canada, who was visiting the country.
On Thursday afternoon a group of masked men stormed the mosque, wearing half balaclavas, they slit Essop throat and stabbed two others.
The attackers got into a white getaway car and fled the scene.
The details of the motive of the attack still remain unknown but it is known that the man died on his way to hospital. It understood the man was married and had two children. The two other victims are still receiving treatment in hospital.
There is already speculation that the cause of attack could have been driven by fanaticism resembling Islamic State-inspired attacks.
