CAPE TOWN- Henri van Breda convicted on Monday for the brutal axe murders of his family at the luxury security estate in Stellenbosch in 2015 and the convicted murder spent his first night in the infamous Pollsmoor prison in Tokai.
Among the inmates van Breda now finds himself surrounded by Guatemalan murder accused Diego Novella who his alleged to have killed his American executive girlfriend Gabriela Alban Kabrins is being held at the hospital section after his lawyer convinced the court that his client was at risk of being assaulted by fellow inmates in the overcrowded cells.

The Western High court found van Breda guilty on all five counts , which were murdering his parents Martin and Teresa, and his brother Rudi, as well as the attempted murder of his sister, Marli, who was 16 at the time.

His defence request for his R100 000 bail to be extended was rejected by the court, Judge Siraj Desai said, “You have been convicted of serious offences, the interests of society dictate that you should be incarcerated.”
