LIMPOPO- A owner of a private game reserve near Thabazimbi in Limpopo was hospitalised after being mauled by one of his lions.
The News24 has quoted police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe who told them that the incident happened on Monday.
Ngoepe said, “The owner was immediately taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is currently recuperating.”
Ngoepe added that the man sustained injuries from his neck and jaw.
The short video clip, the owner is seen walking behind the lion in a den.
The lion quickly sees him and runs after him as he runs for a metal gate. The lion then drags him into nearby bushes where he then lies motionless.
Then, a couple of gunshots were heard in the background.
News24 reported that contact made to the game reserve were unsuccessful.
