Warren Whiteley steps down as president of SARPA, replaced by Chris van Zyl

Johannesburg – Warren Whiteley has stepped down as president of the South African Rugby Players’ Association (SARPA) executive committee, and he will be replaced by Chris van Zyl.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday.

Van Zyl, 34, will start his new role immediately.

Whitely who has 23 Test matches to his name but has been battling a career-threatening knee injury, had served in the position since December 2018.

“Once you-know-who permits as to have a drink again, we’re popping an expensive cork in Wazza’s honour. A giant among men!” said MyPlayers in a Twitter post.
