JOHANNESBURG- Fans are still talking and debating on Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos tackle/challenge against Liverpool’s forward Mohamed Salah during the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday evening.
The challenge ended Salah’s game prematurely and has put doubt on whether he be able to play for Egypt in the World Cup in Russia, which is three weeks away.
A petition has been started online by Mohamed Salah Abdel-Hakeem on change.org, according to the Sun.
The Petition reads, “Sergio Ramos intentionally kept Mohamed Salah’s arm under his armpit, causing dislocation of his shoulder,”
“Sergio Ramos represents an awful example to future generations of football players. Instead of winning matches fairly, he uses tricks that defy the spirit of the game and fair play.”
It was seen by many as the turning point in the game, the challenge by Ramos ended Salah’s game and possibly influential in Liverpool’s lost, as Real lifted their third consecutive title.
