A shortage of raw materials combined with electricity problems saw several municipalities across the country have to make a plan to provide drinking water.
Cape Town is’ however, not yet on track.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says it’s managed to secure enough chlorine for now, while the Drakenstein municipality is using substitutes too.
Suppliers NCP Chlorochem SA says it’s steadily returning to meeting demand again.
