Johannesburg – The Supreme Court of Appeal has dismissed former President Jacob Zuma’s request to have Advocate Billy Downer removed.
The court felt the application has no prospects of success.
Last year, the High Court in Pietermaritzburg ruled that Downer would continue prosecuting Zuma.
The former president requested leave to appeal from Judge Piet Koen, which was also dismissed.
Zuma alleges that Downer leaked important about him. He argued that Downer would not grant him a fair trial and wanted him removed.
The NPA said it’s looking forward to resuming the case on April 11.
