WE’RE One Zambia Alliance (WOZA) has officially joined the Brian Mundubile-led Tonse Alliance, declaring its support for his presidential bid ahead of the August general elections. At the same time, Mundubile extended an appeal to prominent opposition figures Harry Kalaba, Kelvin Fube Bwalya (KBF), Dr Fred M’membe, and Makebi Zulu to unite under a common front and offer Zambians a renewed sense of hope and leadership.
WOZA is a coalition of several political parties, including the New Heritage Party, PAC, ULP, UNIP, and Zambia We Want (ZWW). The alliance announced its position during the launch of the Tonse Alliance’s “100 Days of Hope Journey” held on Monday.
Speaking during the event, WOZA spokesperson Muhabi Lungu confirmed the coalition’s endorsement of Mundubile, saying the decision was reached after consultations among member parties.
“On behalf of WOZA, we have resolved to work alongside the Tonse Alliance and support Honourable Brian Mundubile as our preferred presidential candidate for the upcoming elections. We believe this partnership represents a new direction that can restore confidence and hope among citizens,” said Lungu.
Mundubile welcomed WOZA into the alliance and stressed that the opposition needed to move beyond divisions if it hoped to effectively challenge the ruling party in the 2026 elections.
He said Zambia’s current political and economic situation required leaders who could put national interests ahead of personal ambitions.
“This is not the time for fragmented efforts. The people of Zambia are looking for leadership that is united, focused, and ready to address the challenges facing the country. I want to openly invite Harry Kalaba, KBF, Dr M’membe, and Makebi Zulu to join this movement so that together we can build a stronger alternative for the nation,” Mundubile said..
He added that the “100 Days of Hope Journey” campaign would focus on reconnecting with citizens across the country and presenting practical solutions on issues such as the economy, unemployment, cost of living, and governance.
Political observers say the latest development could reshape opposition politics ahead of the August polls, especially as discussions around opposition unity continue to gain momentum.
